Early Life and Passion for Fitness

Mariana Holert’s entry into health and wellness came long before yoga mats graced the mainstream. Her life was a dance of holistic fitness that included athletics, physical fitness, and even dance itself. This came easy for her given her deep curiosity about the body and movement. This curiosity alongside her international exposure further enhanced and refined her unique body-mind approach. Such strong foundations compelled her to strive towards a multitude of disciplines which resulted in a one of a kind wellness philosophy rooted in mindfulness, strength and balance.

Founding Equilibrium Pilates & Yoga

Fulfilling the goal of providing quality and affordable movement education, eastern inspired therapeutics studios Equilibrium Pilates & Yoga was born. Mariana designed a mind body mobilization system in the form of a movement therapy studio. Equilibrium has easily become the first stop for locals and international tourists to India for Pilates, classical yoga, and functional fitness in the Indian administering state of Goa. The integrative approach from Mariana attracted massive turnout from all over the country and even abroad, ranging from beginners to experienced practitioners which helped establish the studio as something much more impactful: a genuine space of transformation and healing.   

With her guidance, Equilibrium not only became known for their classes, but just as equally for the bespoke attention, tailored programming of goal oriented fitness solutions, and personal focus given to each client. Heavily guided by Mariana’s philosophy that movement must always be easy, instinctive, and restorative, every session enabled clients to experience true Pilates and feel the change unfold within their bodies.

Expanding Horizons: Stand Up Paddle and Yoga in India

Always seeking for new ways to enhance her teaching, Mariana added Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Yoga to India’s wellness offerings–a distinctive intersection of asana practice and core stabilization. Fusing the tranquility of water with the stability of yoga, SUP Yoga provides learners with an opportunity to explore their strength and concentration in entirely different settings.

Mariana was among the first to embrace SUP Yoga in India and curated classes and workshops that enabled practitioners to indulge in the playful yet meditative dimension of fitness. This innovation met her goal of instilling dynamic, holistic movement in the daily lives of her students.

Aerial Yoga: Merging Fitness with Fun

An outstanding supplement to Mariana Helort’s wellness portfolio is Aerial Yoga, as it increases core strength, flexibility, and spinal decompression while evoking self-expression and play through gravity-defying movements, self-expression, and play using a fabric hammock.

Mariana goes further than treating aerial as an acrobatic undertaking; she applies its healing properties too. With having such depth of knowledge on anatomy and safe alignment, she ensures the practice is achievable by any level. In particular, her students appreciate the unique mental and physical challenges posed by her aerial classes, and this has, especially in the fitness world, garnered her a sizable following.
